SUBJECT: Dust Control
Carbon County will again coordinate dust suppressant applications for residents who want treatment on the county road near their property. The County will prepare the road and, if requested, arrange the application. Residents must measure and clearly mark each section to be treated with a painted woodenstake. Unmarked areas will not be sprayed.
Dustbusters Inc. will apply DustGard (Magnesium Chloride), a cost‑effective dust suppressant and road stabilizer. Application will occur after May 15, 2026, depending on weather and truck availability.
A minimum of 200 linear feet is required, which may be combined with neighboring properties. Costs are as follows:
- DustGard: $1.62 per linear foot
- After May 9: $2.00 per linear foot
The County will grade treated areas as needed for public safety and convenience.
To participate, please submit your online application and payment at https://carboncomt.seamlessdocs.com/f/dustcontrol, or
mail the completed form and a check payable to Carbon County to:
Commissioners’ Office
Attn: Angela Newell
PO Box 887
Red Lodge, MT 59068
Applications must be received by May 15, 2026.
You may use another dust control applicator if preferred; however, they must coordinate their work with your County Commissioner. The County does not endorse Dustbusters or any other provider.
For questions, please contact Angela at (406) 446‑1595 or anewell@carbonmt.gov.
